Shipped via Canada Post or UPS on Mondays to ensure your plant spends as little time in transit as possible!
Live Arrival: We take the utmost care while packaging orders. In the rare event of severe carrier damage, please contact us with photos within 12 hours of delivery — we'll be happy to work out a solution. Email thegrandleaf@hotmail.com directly and we'll work with you to make it right!
We care as much about the planet as we do about our plants! Your plant will be securely packaged using sustainable, biodegradable, and recyclable materials wherever we can:
Foliage Protection: We swapped out standard synthetic poly-fill for ultra-soft, 100% natural wool to cushion the delicate leaves without scratching them. Our wool is sourced from a local farm to help reduce shipping-related emissions. The wool should be re-used or composted.
Structural Wrap: The whole plant is secured in crinkled recycled kraft paper, providing superior shock absorption without plastic bubble wrap. The paper should be recycled.
Secured Roots: No plastic tape on your plant! The root ball is covered in sustainably harvested sphagnum moss, with jute twine used to secure a compostable bag around the root ball. The twine and moss should be re-used or composted, and the bag should be composted.
Box Fill: Any extra space is filled with hand-crimped recycled kraft paper or newspaper and should be recycled.
Box Tape: The box is secured with 100% recycled kraft paper tape and should be recycled.
Our Exception:
Heat Packs (seasonal): During colder months, your order will include a heat pack to protect your plant against temperature swings. Heat packs are not recyclable or compostable. Do not open, puncture, or add to compost. Please dispose of in regular household trash once used.
This exception is one we're not comfortable calling permanent. As better options become available, we'll update this page!
